Just about to put down a new brew.

An APA from a fwk from G+G. Anyway, I'm going to add some citra to a litre of 1.040 wort to add some more aroma/flavour. Was thinking 20 grams at 10 minutes and 20 grams at flameout. Does that sound like a reasonable amount, or will it not be enough or too overpowering etc...?

Cheers,
James

Sounds awesome to me! :icon_chickcheers:

I made a Citra amber ale a month or so back, with the following hops schedule:
NB 25g 60m
Citra 20g 40m
" 15g 20m
" 10g 10m
Willamette 15g/flameout

Dry hop 30g Citra 7 days.

Very nice beer, heaps of flavour. It certainly seems like the sort of hop you wouldnt want to over-do, as it would be just too fruity.

To put it in to context, I wont be diluting the kit, so it'll be at 1.060 at 45 IBUs. The citra will probably bring it up to a bit over 50. I like my APA's meaty.

bump it to 60 IBU.. i luuurve an AIPA with a BU:GU ratio of 1. :icon_drool2:

I fear I have overhopped brews in the past which has caused astringency. I'm going to keep this one tame side, more like an APA. We'll see how it goes.

FWK are so freakin easy. I was done in about 30 minutes. Crazy stuff.
