I've got some Citra hops; and have been looking for a decent recipie to use them in. Having never tasted them before I don't want to come up with my own recipie. Lately most my beers have been highly hopped / IPA sytles so would prefer something along those lines.

Any good ideas for a recipie?

Sierra Nevada Torpedo. Not sure of the recipe, but that's what I'd be doing. I'm sure it's out there somewhere Kev.

Sierra Nevada torpedo was in a recent BYO mag. September issue i think.

Cheers SJ

Looks good, not as much Citra as I though and I may have to find a subs for Crystal hops.

Thanks for the pointers

edit: Looks like HALLERTAU is the best subs for Crystal, if not I may try TETNANGER or MT HOOD.

Be sure to post up how it comes out. This on is on the planned list, but after lager season.

Yeah, I think I may have over done them. Made something loosely based on the recipe Kev just posted but might have used more and dry hopped with it. Worst beer I've made in some time. Not blaming the hop directly but when I use up the rest I will be exercising caution. I am getting that minty thing some people mentioned in the Citra hop of the week thread (seems maybe more menthol to me?) but some report it fades and this beer has only been bottled for 3 weeks so I haven't lost all hope yet. I'm pretty disappointed about it so far because the smell was easily the most amazing I've had so far when bottling - thought I'd finally cracked the "better than commercial" barrier.

I may follow the recipe as above, will let you know how it goes. Hopefully it's not like that Nelson hops; didn't rate that at all. Plus I've got a pound of the stuff to use. Finger crossed I'll get the brew done this weekend.
