Hey all,
I am after a recipe for a Chocolate Beer.
Does anyone know of a good Recipe?? I do not have the set up for partial/all grain tho. Still looking into it.
Cheers
Ken

I made a great porter with:

Morgans Ironbark Dark Ale
1kg of dark dry malt
150g of light dry malt
300g of chocolate grain (that was for the coffee flavour) you can scrap that but it's dead easy to do, all you need is a pot and a strainer.
100g of cocoa (put that in a boil so it blends a bit better, mine liked to stay with the yeast in the bottle a little too much).
Windsor yeast.
Ferment at 18c and you are laughing, unless you don't like porters. But this is a winner of a kit IMO.

I remember reading somewhere of a stout recipe that used Cottee's Chocolate topping. It sounds weird but apparently the results were good.

I can't remember if I read the recipe on line or if it was in one of my brew magz. If anyone else knows, I'll be interested to know too.

My tightarse choc stout:

1 can of Coopers stout
1 can of Coopers dark ale
500g DDME
500g of brown/raw sugar
180g of homebrand cocoa powder

Think I made it to 20 litres, came out at 7%. After 4 weeks bottle conditioning it maintains head retention and tastes great.
