Trying to work out what taps to upgrade to and love the flow regulator on the celli's.

How good is the chrome coating on the cheaper versions? is it hardy enough to last, or will I be seeing the brass under it far too soon?

Anyone who has the chrome ones like to comment? Is it worth the extra to go stainless? I'm not a big fan of gold.

Hey Spaz, Can't comment on the chrome, but I reckon the stainless is a safe bet. I got a couple of the early gold ones a year (probably more) ago, and the gold is starting to come off (sorry Ross) where they dip into the glass. Bought a couple of new goldies recently just to match the old ones, but if I was to do it again I'd go stainless.

I love my Cellis , this is the Stainless version, But you should weigh up style versus practicality ,The flow adjuster is good but they are rear sealing ,
suppose it depends if you want pub taps or taps with style, just to balance the argument .
Quote Batz:

"Celli taps look fantastic I admit, but do you really think they are worth the money?
I have only ever seen one in action on a party set up and was not allowed to play with the flow adjuster it is obviously a hassle to get correct.
Perlick Seal-Forward taps are to go I believe.
Hides under the bar and lots less expensive

i have stainless celli taps very good tap a little bit more cleaning than the shirron and perlick. but the adjustable flow regulator is a great feature along with the creamer.
cheers paul

I have a couple of Celli's. They're great. :)
Don't have to arse around with long beer lines in the fridge, or balancing pressures....

If I were to buy them again tho, I would get the stainless ones. After a couple of years use with soda water, one of mine is shedding it's chrome lining into the glass sometimes when I pour. :(

i vote for the two tone shirron, if you've got your system balanced you don't need all the bells & whistles, imho.

I am still enjoying my chrome ones. The adjuster isn't that hard to use, Batz you can come up and fiddle with mine all night if you like (said the vicar to the altar boy).

Mine shed little bits of black shit into the beer but I have seen this with other people's set ups. The chrome is still holding strong. I needed 3 taps in a hurry and would have gotten divorced if I bought 3 stainless ones!

I've actually gone from the Celli's back to my Shirrons (Ventmatics really) because the forward sealing of the tap suits me better.
My keg fridge is in the garage and since it can get so hot in there I was having problems with the Celli's sticking.
I know you can clean them and use lubricant etc but I'm just too much of a lazy bugger to frig around with that so often.

Don't hold your breath for an invite there KHB. Yardy doesn't socialise much apparently :D

you could always catch me at work for a beer Henno ;) , try Moranbah, Emerald, Dysart, Biloela, Moura, Kingaroy, Rocky, Mackay......

sorry about the OT, like i said, try the Shirrons :chug:

I've got a gold Celli for sale hardly used still with box with all the bits to attach to a fridge if anyone is interested? Great nic

I have been very happy with the Celli. I am selling for other reason than dissatisfaction with the product.

Also got a heap of other stuff which I will post in another thread.

Send me a PM if any intrest.

Hi Thunderlips

I'm looking at buying some taps and was looking at the Shirrons? (Ventmatics?) Just wondering where did you get yours from?
How much did you pay for them? Was the cleaning the only reason you back to shirrons ?
