I assume there's no gluten in sawdust? Leave out the Orval dregs and maybe it's something the coeliacs can drink.
 
Not with normal brewing diastases (like those commonly found in malted barley, wheat etc). These enzymes have evolved to deal with alpha 1-4 glycoside bonds, not beta 1-4's found in cellulose.
 
In ww2 the Nazi found a way to ferment saw dust to make bread, is there a way to make saw dust into beer?
My friend you think WAY outside the box.
 
Yep, there are proprietry processes for cellulose and lignen into ethanol, can't say that it would be beer though. Milk waste is popular in NZ for ethanol recovery.
Apparently milk waste is a major source of the ethanol used in alco-pops according to a friend in the industry.
 
Yes it is the major source of what in most countries would be GNS or grain neutral alcohol, which is just bulk cheap 96% cleanish vodka/neutral. A lot of distilleries use it as it's cheaper than producing it themselves for a lot of products.
