Can You Beat $9 A Bottle For Corona ?

Admitedly I don't get out much- but at the Galaxy/Beckham game, the nearby Novotel at Olympic Park was charging $9.00/bottle for Corona and $8 for a Heineken.
Is this a record for LBAW ( Light Brown Alcoholic water) ?

Galaxy, who are they, the way it was depicted on telly it was Sydney FC vs Beckham.

When I was at the park for the Australia v Uruguay game, we just made sure we had enough megaswill at the overflow bar for the exact same reason - the pricing at nearby pubs was crazy, and most likely inflated for a single night.

happens all the time. I've been to plenty of local gigs, with small local bands, and have payed $8 for a New or VB. Big day out is like this too.

I think we have a winner ! Unfortunately Katie I had to stay as it was the only place (outside the stadium) where SWBO ( who has a crook hip) could find a decent seat, however I did swtch to the house red, immeasurably cheaper at $7.50 a glass . I kept doing the maths on how much I could make for the price of a corona 6 pack

We got around that by taking a seat at a 1c poker machine close to the bar at The Luxor. Fed $1 in for 100 credits, then played very slowly 1c at a time. The waitress saw us 'playing' the machine, so to keep us there they gave us free drinks. Vodka all night for $1. Sweet.

Yeah I found the same thing in 2005, some bloody astronomical prices in LV bars and clubs, one wanted to charge us $20 for a pint of Boston Lager

However I did then get told about the free drinks trick, which was - put $10 in a pokie, press the drinks button, drinks waitress comes around, any free drink at all, just had to tip the waitress! Take the $10 out grab your drink and start again at next casino!

We were sampling beers, spirits, cocktails ( I know, I know!) all night for pretty much free.

Great tip that one.

Ok, how about $16 US for a 300ml bottle of water in Las Vegas. Was taking the missus and daughter to a theatre show there and got charged $16US outside the door of the theatre at the Bellagio. This was around 2002, so given the crapping AU dollar at that time I think it worked out to be close to $30 AU per bottle. And the beer and wine was even more expensive than that !

unfortunatey that how these clubs make thier money. people think that money is made from dancing but its from liquor. eg 15 guys sitting round 1 table watching a dance, but only 1 is paying (say $40). 15 guys with a beer @ $9 = $135. simple math. people think that are getting a free show but they forget how much they pay in drinks.
