Bulk grain buying groups in Brisbane.

Hi there

Im from Greenslopes in Brisbane and im wondering if there are any bulk grain buying groups in my area? or if anyone is keen to get together and order in bulk to save some money. I noticed on the craft brewer website they do base malts starting at $39 per 25kg sacs when a minimum of 20 sacs are ordered. below is the pricing list.

You need to get a forum admin to officially sanction the starting of a Bulk Buy thread. This one has currently obviously been classified as just an expression of interest thread.

It's just a formality where they make sure you are aware of the process to avoid any issues or complaints should things go pair shaped.

Can anybody tell me how i go about doing that? Also im new to organising bulk buys, is there anyone with experience that would be able to possibly assist with making this a smooth process? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I would recommend contacting Ross from Craftbrewer before getting too far to confirm the go ahead. Also check out this prior thread to see how it goes, personally I like the use of the spreadsheet as it makes it easy to see what is happening. You need to allow freight in addition to the bulk bag prices. Whilst the buy min is 20 bags, you can fit 36 per pallet to minimize freight cost per bag. To Brissy it is about $8 per bag if you get all 36 bags on a pallet, which normally fills up very quick. Then you arrange with Ross a date and time for everyone to turn up to get their bags.
