Still is. Or at least was 2 1/2 years ago when I was there...This idea was popular in Vancouver when I was there 10+ years ago. I'm not sure if its still the case.
The customer had to add the yeast to make it legal.![]()
I see. Good luck in your venture :beer:Hi Maxt,
Pure coincidence as I was naming some of our beers after prominent local icons in the Macarthur Area. If you are familiar with the area both are well known locally.

another one...they're an ok idea for a gimmick or outing with the mates or something, but they always seem to go out of business!
All the best with it Tim...might pop down with a few of my own beers for you to try
Beer Shed,
How much for a 6 carton batch? I would like to try full grain some time but don't want to buy all the kit.
If you don't want to post the price just PM me.
Hi Brewtus,
For a 50 litre batch of beer it ranges from $109.95 to $169.95 depending upon the style of beer you like to brew. All our styles are listed on the website. We generally have a few different styles on tap for sampling at any one time.
Cheers

good luck with the venture.
Is it extract or all grain brewing??
Cheers
Can't comment directly on this one but all the similar businesses up here in QLD use extract as the base. IIRC I've seen some that use some specialty grain.

Must have missed this but 50L is slightly twice the 'normal' batch size i did when doing kits/extracts. No matter how hard i tried (adding up to 1kg of spec grain, saf yeasts) i couldnt get my brews to cost any more than $40 a batch.... i realise bottles/cans would cost more but YIKES! I hope that liquid yeast are being used but thats prob the high end of the price range?
Sounds a bit bolshi DrSmurto - what are you comrade, an accountant or a communist or something ...
You are paying for using some else's equipment including force carbonating and filtering equipment, paying someone to transfer and monitor it and paying for premises. You are also paying for the guarantee.
People who use BoPs are not looking to make beermaking a hobby, there are looking for someone to produce a unique beer for them, possibly as a present. You don't need to learn anything about beer making, you just rock up and do it.
At their prices it is still half the cost of a commercial carton.
Do they? I thought that was the whole point about you adding the yeast yourself.
