Got myself the Cooper micro-brew kit and noticed a few others over Christmas here did also :) be interested to know how your brews turned out with the Cooper Lager kit brew? Mine is just finished it's 2 weeks in the bottle and has started to taste alot better now (been tasting the whole way) but have noticed it has abit of that citris/twang flavour some ppl speak off with which seem to be common with kit brews? (also will keep temps lower and more controlled next brew) I don't think it's off...it tastes like beer but hasn't quite got that full bodied flavour i'd like....Not after darker/ale type thing but just a fuller bodied maybe abit stronger beer next one...

So for the next brew what should I get as far as yeast/beer brew? Don't want to boil or go AG yet...

Was thinking either a toucan of say 2 x Coopers brews plus Light Dry Malt this time? or ...worth getting some quality yeast instead of kit yeast? What are some recommended more quality ingrediants to put together for my next brew or are the Coopers Kit beer options OK? :)

I did a Coopers Sparkling as my second brew and it was pretty good I thought. Check out the coopers web site for some more ideas.
After that I went on to making extract brews and they taste far better imo.
Only got my kit for Fathers day btw best gift ever :D

I myself have bottled the Coopers Lager, I'm now going to try the Coopers Draught but with strict temperature control. I'm also trying to sort out my plans for a Raspberry Wheat Beer, with the use of Thomas Cooper Wheat Beer kit can, fresh raspberries, and some other fermentables.

I would suggest go to kits and bits. its not to hard really. I have done 2 brews and both was few months befor the new year so havnt put one done for that long till the other day. this is my recipe and wasnt hard at all.

Coopers Australian pale ale
200g carared grain steeped
20g challenger @ 30 mins
20g challenger @ 10 mins
20 g challenger at 5 mins
1kg DME-light
250g dextrose
used a US-05 yeast

it wasnt to hard and is sitting at nice temp 18-20 in my brewing fridge :) that was main reason for long wait between brews was needed temp control as both got upto 29 deg in the primary :(
