Cloudy is fine, i you gave it more time for the yeasties to drop our of suspension it would be a little clearer.

Thanks Syl.

Not that I care what it 'looks' like, but will clear with time in the bottle?

Yeah somewhat, just give them plenty of lead time in the fridge and that'll help too.

Because I keg, I sometime coldcrash before kegging to clear them out, I really don't mind though, it's all about the taste!

Could be just yeast still suspended. Did you crash chill before bottling. I crash chill to about 1-2 degrees for a couple days clears up great. You should find it will all settle out after a while in the bottle and then chilled

I agree the beers will settle out within probably 7 days or so, you should be good to start drinking at 10 days as long as you remember the flavour is gonna change as the beer will most likely still be a bit green at this stage but as time goes on it will develop alot more.

Crash chilling isnt some thing I have looked into. But Im guessing you would 'crash chill' in a secondary. And is crash chilling before bulk priming for the bottle ok?

I thought it was more for keg users?

You should still have enough yeast in suspension for priming. But I would only give it a day to not lose too much.

I've crashed chilled for like four days at near freezing then racked and bulk primed and bottled no dramas. Still plenty of yeast. Actually was over carbed. It's not just for kegging I don't believe. Just to help clear your beer and drop some suspended bizzos out of ya beer. There is a debate about dropping it slowly over days or going from 20-2 in hours but I drop it by like 5 degrees morning and night till I get it to about 2-3. Works a treat for me

Leave it in primary while you crash chill. After a lot of reading I don't bother using secondary unless doing a lager

Secondaries were a fad. Don't bother.

i have never done a crash chill and am pretty happy with what i am producing at the moment.

Here's a question for everybody. To buy this recipe how much would you expect to pay. In particular how much for the hops. I seem to have paid 40 bucks just for 100 grams of pellets. Wow

Try the site sponsors for your hops loads and loads of varieties CB Hops

Was local hb shop and I think they charge 6-8 bucks for 15-20 grams of hops. Think I can get 1 kg for 55 about. May as well stock up. I found some on eBay too. What's the opinions on that, how is it delivered fresh/cold still

People on here have been raving about this guy. I went halves with another brewer on here. Happy with price & quality.
A lot to go through, but worth it.

I have since looked on there. How much is delivery do you know

I think it is about $11.00 for a 3Kg Post Satchel so you can get some steeping grains too. Around $20.00 ish for a 5Kg bag.
Express Post so you get next day once payment is received.

Excellent, I'm still yet to try steeping grains. Don't understand that yet but intend on researching it ASAP
