Last year we had about a dozen or so people turn up at The Riverview Hotel in Balmain to enjoy a few pints of the Braidwood ESB, straight out of the handpump. I thought we should do it again. The Braidwood Ales are now being brewed under contract by Matt Donellan at his St.Peter's Brewery. The St Peters Blonde is now also on tap at The Riverview.

This time around I have organised for Matt to be there for the afternoon, so come along with a few questions ready, and enjoy a pint or two. Or three!

Where - Riverview Hotel, Birchgrove Road Balmain
Date - Saturday July 22nd from 2pm

Cheers

I'm there.

Cheers.

Already posted to the MALE site....and No wheelchairs this time!!!(had to be there)

Linz I'll probably make an appearance as well.

Being a cheapskate I have to ask if these are discounted at all :)

Why would the beers be discounted?

It's just a group of people meeting up at a pub for a beer and a chat so I can't see any discounts being offered.

ill see how i go but ill ask the better half as its just over the gladesvile bridge

I loved the flavour of the Braidwood ale Scott made .

Dont you just wish hand pumped ales had a touch more fizz in it

Have i said the wrong thing !!!!!

Pumpy :)

I remember Richard Hawkins describing the Braidwood ESB as the beer he had waited 28 years to find in Australia. Richard has two hand pumps in his shed so he rarely ventures out for a beer, I may manage to drag him along again.
CYA on the 22nd!
Cheers

"Drag him along again" kicking and screaming ,gripping the floor with his fingernails ,this is not a man who has waited 28 years for a good drop .Gerard

Pumpy

I think ill have to make the effort to be there. not just for the fine ales & company, but for for pumpys wit, revelations & t-shirt !!
;-)

I agree with Richard

Here were my impressions

Hoping to be there too. The lack of fizz is a difficult thing to get over if you're not used to it. I dragged a couple of work colleagues there and they said the same thing Pumpy. All I can say is drink a few more pints and you might get to love it like me

Found the Braidwood ESB on tap at the Royal Cricketers Arms on saturday night... Just didn't get a chance to try it... Bloody designated driver!

Perfect excuse to get your local AHBers to meet at Quakers'(or nearest) station and meet us at Railway Square for the bus trip to Balmain!!!

Barls actually asked me about it on the weekend... Might have to make an appearance down there...

Cheers,
Andrew

This info is from last year
I'll be there if I'm not working. For those catching the train, you'll have to transfer to a bus to get to the Riverview. Get the 433 from Central to Balmain. Or the 445 from Petersham to Balmain. Ask the driver to let you off at Birchgrove Rd.

Who is going?

Cheers
Gerard
