I actually use both.

As already pointed out the PET bottles are really good for transporting, I have had no problems with carbination or flavour issues.

The other advantage is that you can gauge the level of carbination with them depending on how tight they get.

Its a good way to avoid bottle bombs, if you do at least a few PET ones per batch.
 
I used the plastic ones that came with the coopers kit and they seem ok - I probably used them 2 or 3 times - but later on I had a couple of dodgy bottles so I ditched them.

I am considering the coke bottles as give away bottles though - people keep stealing my longies - even though you ask that they return them :eek:

Glass is my preferred option before heading down the kegging route
