Boiling The Kit And The Fermentables

Just wondering if when doing a boil you add the contents of the kit and the fermentables to the pot ? or are you just supposed to pour it into the fermenter like the destructions say.

I havr never done this before but was wondering if it was the norm ?

Cheers for that info... very good artical and has giving me a lot to consider. will probably still refrain from boiling my kit up though...
