Events get posted in there, I've put in comps, swap meets etc.. Folks can add what ever is desired.

Pretty sure the Sydney Easter pub crawls have been there. over the years.

Should be an option to hide birthdays, because nothing else stands out

Just hover over the title bar and a little red x appears on the right. Just click it and they disappear.
