I have been using Hahn Premium 375ml stubbies for 10 years with no explosions. I am pretty sure they no longer come in 375ml capacity but I collected about 200 of them and put all my brews in old cartons sealed with Gaffa Tape.

Nice and thick, drop a full one and they won't break.

Hi Guys,

Bundaberg ginger beer bottles.
Has anyone tried using these? ...

On second thoughts, these probably should be used with caution  .

Assuming a direct correlation between the weight of the glass of a bottle
and its strength (suitability for bottling beer) - and providing bottles are
of fairly regular design - the Bundy bottles weigh about 200g for a 375mL
bottle.

Compare this to a James Squire Sundown Lager bottle which also weighs 200g
but is only 330mL and probably stronger.

I've also got some Waldies Lager (made for the Stringy Brae winery in the
Clare Valley by Grand Ridge) bottles which are 330mL but weigh about 250g
- these feel really solid. And also some Coopers longnecks that weigh about
545g for a 750mL sized bottle - these also feel really solid.

I'm thinking the Bundy bottles might be ok for making lower CO2 beer styles
like English beer and saving the more solid bottles for the high CO2 lagers
- at least for the beers to be stored for longer term - and PET bottles for the
TBD (to be drunk :D ) beers.

BTW - has anyone tried Waldies Lager and know what ingredients can be used
to brew something like it?

Cheers.
