Went to the Speiegelau Glass session at the QHBC in Brisbane last weekend.
First, it opened my eyes up to the difference quality glassware makes to your beer drinking.
I won't go into the details, but lets say that Im enlightened...
Have been trying these at home with both Commercial and HB beers,, up against my trusty Headmasters. The headmasters have gone to the back of the cupboard.

Has anybody else tried these glasses ? Feedback good or bad.

Brewers choice has a Promo deal on these atm.. The same pack for $45, with pick up at Brewers Choice Stores no delivery.
No affiliation.

Cheers

I got the connoisseur set for Xmas:

They are really nice glasses, they hold the beer and present it well. We have the red wine glasses too. I can't describe the differences very well, but drinks just slide out of them. I know how that sounds, try one.

Favourite glasses are also about the way they feel in your hand. This was my favourite (weihenstephaner vitus 500 ml)
Until I broke it :( , I haven't been able to source a replacement in Australia. Still pisses me off.

.

This is one of my current favourites, a St. Bernadus

I really like the big Stella glasses too.

O/T, nice Moondog PSA , Great beer..
On Topic.. I have the special IPA glasses on pre-order, cant wait

No worries Luke..
it's the same set we got at the session, get on to them quick, its a saving of $15 plus the postage.
Do yourself a favour if you like your IPA's and then get on the pre-order for the IPA Glass.
Check out their website, they are shipped out of Sydney.

Cheers

$45 isn't bad - they're $60 at myer. I have the wheat beer and tulip glasses, both types are nice except the wheat is very thin and feels like I'm going to break it by looking at it.

That being said it must be the perfect glass because I always smash a wheat beer....

I like those glasses! Might have to get me some..

Like I said, nice glasses. You just have to cheers your mates very gently...

Without going into the finer details...
We did a side by side test tasting with the Headmasters.. you could pick the differences. At lest I could..
They are thin glass, but very tough. mine have been through the dishwasher twice, no probs. they have put them through a commercial dishwasher 1500 times, no probs.

I was looking everywhere in Newcastle for some tulip glasses. Couldn't find any for the life of me in the shops. Went for a beer at a local pub that specialises in craft beer which had the perfect glass I was after. Offered to buy two off the bartender and he gave me an unopened box of six for free! I put $20 in the tip jar.

He asked if I wanted a bag, I said yes and he went out the back and got me one of those coles green bags. Got home and it had a JBHIFI bag at the bottom with a $20 gift voucher in it!! Score of the century.

Edit: SPellz

In the interests of transparency, I was just telling my father in law about this amazing find (JB gift voucher). He was with me on the day but I didnt find he voucher until days later. He just told me that he slipped the voucher in the bag as a late birthday present to me.

Dont know what I'm more livid about, the fact that it ruined mhy story or that he gave me a 20$ gift voucher at JB, WTF can I buy with that that I cant obtain over the net?

</end ungrateful rant>

FWIW, All Cooks have some Spiegelau glasses on special for $20 a pair plus $5.95 flat rate shipping. I placed an order for a pair of tulip and wheat glasses last Friday and they arrived yesterday, very well packaged with bubble pack and air bags.

I just bought 24 pots (285ml) from the local catering wholesaler.

Extreme Bubbles pot glasses. I think they sand blast the inside bottom of the pot.

It really works well to keep the carbonation in your beer as you drink it.

Great deal. $33 for 24 pots.
Thats not correct.....the sandblasting makes your beer go flat as it aids in releasing the CO2....It just looks cool......basically designed to keep bogan VB drinkers happy who think bubbles are good

Just in case anyone doesn't know the Spiegelau IPA Glasses are now available in David Jones & Myers - $30 for a set of two. There might also be a new mixed pack of beer glasses coming out around Xmas staff informed me.

Bloody awesome.
