Looking for a strong barley wine or beer recipe thats realitivly cheap. I know I could make a good belgian at 9% or so or a dopplebock, but something quickish and cheap (still drinkable) is what im after for my younger brother-in-law. So long as its K&K/extract or partial. no AG

cheap but sounds a bit boring. and 2 kg of dex is likely to make it really watery.
1 good bitter or ale kit
1.5kg light malt extract
2kg glucose/dextrose
15g Fuggles hop pellets
22L = 9-10%

short of going to a recipe like this which is more expensive but more tasty.
muntons nut brown ale
500g black fern unhopped wheat malt
500g coopers amber malt
1kg LDME
1.5kg morgans unhopped extra pale malt extract
500g belgian candy sugar
10g hersbrucker hops
10g styrian
23L
22g T-58 yeast
SG 1074, FG 1018
