Hey guys,

I'm trying out some new hops, and also having a go at boiling my own hops instead of buying the canned stuff.

I wrote this recipe to try tonight.

Does it look like it'll work?

Thanks

Azzacca hops - 15% Alpha (fruity, similar to galaxy I'm guessing)

10gms @ 20 mins
15gms @ 10mins
20gms @ 0mins
20gms Dry @ 3 days

2kg dextrose
500gms liquid Barvarian wheat malt
500gms dry Barvarian wheat malt

Actually just thinking:
1.5kg lme
1kg dextrose
300g wheat dme

Hey brad,
Boil times seem ok for a low ibu wheat beer.
What final wort volume are you chasing?
If you have anymore dry malt try to use this in place of the dextrose, 2kg dextrose is way too much for only 1kg malt.
Try the recipe in IanH's spreadsheet in the kit-extract page to assist with qty's

Essentially if you are after roughly 20L and If you have enough ingredients, try to mimic the kit can volume qty in un hopped malt and then plan the boil additions

Thanks guys, I'll have a look at the kit recipe.

So does the second one look better?

No worries. Yes, a bit better. Will be quite thin if brewed to 23L. You could use 1.5kg liquid malt, 500g wheat dry malt and 500g dextrose or increase dry malt and use 300g dextrose. Brewed to about 18-20L. What yeast are you thinking?

Pineapple buddy, all the way....
I freakin LOVE this hop, reminds me I should get some more....

I made an amber with this, mmmm pineapple amber

What yeast?

I used a "brew cellar wheat yeast" which apparently is safale k-97.
Ideally next time I might try us05

Not to sure where you got your hops from, be sure to check the AA% on the packaging. As my batch was only 10
