Driving home from work I often cant wait to rush into the house and pour out a nice cold beer .

Recently Due to Poor planning I ran out of beer for a couple of weeks ( I know I know)

During that two weeks after I had finished off any alchohol I could find in the house , I found I had no real desire to rush up to the Bottle shop, although ,I did browse ,or go to the pub on the way home, although, I did consider it .

I felt proud in away that I did not just have a need for just any alchohol .

I did have a desire for my homebrew and worked Frantically to get it back in the kegs but suffered no withdrawl symptoms .

Are you addicted to your Homebrew ??

Pumpy :)

Before discovering home brew, I would go to the pub with mates a lot and it did not matter which pub we went to.

Nowadays, if it is a pub that doesn't serve a beer other than the megabrewery stuff, I might not join them. Does that count?

:D

On the flip-side, I do find myself paying a lot more attention to the beer I drink (flavour, aroma, etc - not just engaging it in conversation) regardless of where it is.

Pumpy,

Man, Im relieved!!! I thought I was the only one!!!
Whilst on afternoon shift i dream about getting to the fridge and pouring off one of my own brews. On the other days, I wait impatiently till the sun nears the horizon and then im off to the HB fridge. :chug: MMMMmm. Pity I have to go to work now!!

Yeah, Im addicted!

YES I am. I love my home brew...not for the affects of the alcohol though...I just love beer. I love getting home on a hot summers day (or winter) cracking a beer and sitting outside with my wife and son. I do get cranky if i forget to re-stock the fridge in the morning. My wife usually calls me to ask if I'd like some put in. Bless her!
Cheers
Steve

Pumpy,

Are you addicted to polls and inane questions?

"Addiction" is a very strong word, with a clinical meaning. To some degree, all of the regulars here are addicted. Traits to look for: obsessive thoughts; daily consumption; when the object/substance is not available, thoughts turn to the substance/object; withdrawl symptoms following deprivation; there are probably others, but I cbf'd looking for them.

In short, I like my homebrew better than "most" beer. If I run out, I'll drink other beer and bemoan my stupid lack of planning. Atm, I am on a month off drinking (but not brewing, so I occassionaly take a mouthful to sample, but just enough to check on quality/progress/etc) to give my liver a rest. I have 2 kegs conditioning in the fridge, and they'll be safe enough until I come off my liver-rest. If I was addicted, I reckon I'd consume to my own detriment. However, I'm not getting withdrawl (which is a bit of a surprise to me actually) in fact I've lost a few kilos, feel better, sleep better and look healthier. Hmm.

oh hell yes , to the tune of about 30lt /week.

Just pourring todays first , Not bad made it till 12:15 ;)

Hmmm, a keg and a half a week. Your D'man :super:

i feel sorry for your liver!!
i rarely get to the end of a keg, usually get half way through (after atleast a month) and get bored of it and dump it and put something new in.

Ohhh man, get some more kegs, or have some people over. :(

I enjoy my beer and I'm definitely addicted to brewing.

Reading the posts on this site just adds to the addiction.

So many ideas and recipes, so little time.

can't you make half size batches? seems like an awful waste of beer

then again i have no idea how kegs work is half filling them something that can be done?

Ps. don't know if i'm addicted, i'm deffinatly a beer snob now tho. decided to stay dry at a friends sisters wedding rather than drink Vic and i'm usually well known as a drinker

They all taste fine, but i enjoy brewing just as much drinking and the promise and anticipation of the next new brew gets the better of me.

Mind you i have only done it three times so its not as bad as it may sound.

Yes, i'm addicted. Looking at the shots in the "what's in your glass" thread at 7am when i arrive at work, and hankering for a nice beer. not that i normally consume beer early on my days off at all. The sun is well and truly over the yardarm before i pour the first. I just love my beer. my.. beer. went to a pub the ther week, and ordered some beer, can't remember what, but it just tasted like shite. watery flavourless shite. And what's worse, we had a meeting at work last week, and the only beer they put on is hahn premium light! FFS!!!!!! what is it with all the light beer drinkers up here? i'm not against light beer provided it tastes like a beer...
