Where: Angliss Restaurant, 550 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.
Tickets still available until Midnight Wednesday
Ticket prices are $90 per head, or $800 for a table of 10 guests.

For those joining us we have a magnificent 5 course menu designed by Scott Thomas (from the Courthouse hotel in North Melbourne) and Scott Cavanagh from William Angliss, which is sure to please. We also have a range of Microbrewed beers available on the night.

The centerpiece is, of course, a show case of some of Australia's best home brewers, and here's some more information about our special guests...

Dan "ThirstyBoy" Walker (VIC)

Dan is a brewer with an alter ego. By day, a mild mannered worker in a famous beer factory - he helps to make very large quantities of very popular beer. By night (and on the weekends) - he moves his underpants to the outside, transforms into a home-brewer & makes very small quantities of the sort of beer that he likes to drink - he's even managed to win a few awards on the way, peaking so far with a BOS at VicBrew and the "Mash Paddle" at the ANAWBS.

A qualified adult educator - he often uses his super powers (and has a great time) helping new brewers get started by doing demonstration days at Grain and Grape. A formally qualified brewer - he's supposed to know what he's talking about.... Sometimes he does.

Robin Brown (VIC)

Robin grew up in a house with the old man brewing on the sly in the days prior to Gough Whitlam legalizing home brewing. He did the usual kit brewing for many years quickly moving on to adding adjuncts to try and excite the brew.

Robin then spent some time in the UK and loved the beer they had to offer and on returning to Australia the market here had not progressed to the point of importing UK beer; there was little to offer in the Australian brewing market so decided to move into mash brewing in order to try and obtain some of that beautiful British beer.

He spent time setting up for an all grain mash getting equipment from supermarkets, hardware stores and anywhere else as brewing equipment was not readily available as it is today.Robin's first all grain brew was in 2003 and he put it into Vicbrew knowing nothing about beer styles and scored a 96 in the British Ale section.

His turning point was Vicbrew 2005 getting best Novice Brewer with a Hefeweizen along with a few other places in other categories. He has continued to improve and major factors involved were stricter temperature control and attention to water chemistry.

Robin has now won multiple awards having won Champion brewer in Vicbrew, Oktoberfest & Beerfest, not to mention a 1st place in the AABC last year in the Wheat category.

Robin is presently in the process of moving into commercial brewing.
