It's probably old news but I just stumbled across this article,

I found it very interesting, hope someone else does.
I know the Tasmanian Aboriginals made an annual brew from fermented tree sap and wondered where the yeast came from. I'm not sure if they used a yeast known to them or perhaps a yeast from the specific Cider Gum Tree or elsewhere done the trick unknown to the indiginous brewers.
