Big Stainless Mill Up For Sale

90% sounds great if that's what your getting. I played around with gap over a few brews and arrived at where it is now. Even tried running it through twice on a wider gap to see if it gave a better crush but was a false economy. I think becasue the knurl is so slight that even on a single run...

Big Stainless Mill Up For Sale

Sorry hadn't checked up that this thread kept going. No worries on the extra's either Les. Not much good to me now. Hope it serves you well. Couldn't be happier to see it go to a good home. I see on another thread you've given it a run. Are you happy with the results? Cheers Brent

Big Stainless Mill Up For Sale

Up for sale is my custom made mill. I made it a few years ago but it has only seen a dozen brews. It was a labor of love and I was totally wrapped with the result. Im no longer brewing so hopefully someone else can add some practical bling to their brewery. On a home brewers scale its...

    New Paddle/spoon Needed - Suggestions?

Ahrrrrrr, and they be in there pretty darn tight too Warren ol son. Glad it's still hanging in there. All pieces fit together tight to start and then the wooden pin are hammered in tight. When it's wet it will obviously swell too making everything that bit tighter again. There be a few...

    Bottles- Free To Good Home-newcastle

Approx 8 dozen longknecks, most are crown seal and clean, are surplus to my current requirements and up for grabs. Also have a couple of dozen kozel 500's and junior pickaxe 375's that can go with them. Would like to get rid of them this arfernoon as I want them out of the garage. So if your...

    2006 Hop Plantations

You definately have a male plant in which case you may want to tear it out. It's likely to promote seeds in the cones of your other plant. Major bummer dude... Heres a diagram I found. Male flowers are seen at the top of the diagram, the female stuff you want is at the bottom. Hops Brent

Hold the phone... I didn't see the bottom row of pics. I believe that be the wrong sex..... you want a chick plant not a dude. You have 2 plants I assume.

    2006 Hop Plantations

From your photo's they are no where near ready. Harvest is a long way off. By the time they are ready all those spikey bits will be engulfed (and dissapear) by the petals of the cones and the finished product will be a whole lot bigger. Have patience, leave em alone. FWIW they are looking...

    Iron Brewer

..... um... the shop is in Islington. It shouldn't pose too much of a problem should the need arise... Just need a bimbo actress to jump on the judging panel... do you want to audition for the position POL :o

    Iron Brewer

Come on guys... it could never be an 'iron' contest without the Backdraft music. I can just see MHB sitting there biting into wyeat smackpack (in chairman biting capsicum style) with the theme 'Show me your fire engine' in the background... Now this is going too far Brent

    Hefeweizen!

Yes the rest would be for Ferulic acid, the precursor of clove character. However this is said ideally to be produced at 43c. Schnieders site and again from the animation, indicates the mashin appears to be 95 deg far (35 celcius) and final rest at 170f (or 77c) which on a typical decoction...

    2006 Hop Plantations

I know what you mean Doc. the weather has been nuts! All mine shot and then stalled a few weeks later with really short stumpy growth that hasn't progressed for months. I knocked all those shoots off last weekend and the growth that has replaced it from new buds has been much better. They...

    Hefeweizen!

Try the English section...... The animation for the brewing process and bottling. I love when people keep arguing an unfounded point. but I still could be wrong.... Brent

    Hefeweizen!

Schneiders site blantantly states they neither filter nor pasturise their beer before bottling. I wouldn't class them as tiny. Brent

    Saison Stress

My experience with the Wyeast strain got good activity for a week at 25+deg then I ramped it upto 29 for another 3 weeks to reach a terminal gravity of 1.004 from an original 1.055ish. Straight to bottle for another 4 weeks warm conditioning at 25deg and decent priming rates.. Brent
