What Was Your Very First Brew?

I was seventeen and still livin with the parents, my old man has always had an awesome setup with 6 or 7 kegs and two fridges with taps on front, connected with gas bottles. Anyways the wise old boy thought he would teach me the fine art of homebrewing so away i trotted and bought a coopers pale...

    Rules For Brewing With Lemon?

Great help guys, thanks. juice + rind of 3-4 lemons boiled and bunged in the fermenter. Exactly the details i needed. What is with the coriander here? I did also want to make a honey wheat beer but i didn't think of honey+lemon in the same beer. Miller chill is lemon, lime and salt infused...

    Rules For Brewing With Lemon?

Yeah, i got a 6pack of that when it was on clearance from BWS- $7. It is 2.4% alcohol and 50% regular bittburger and 50% a lemonade brewed by bittburger. Rubbish stuff.

    Little Creatures Bright Ale

Thanks for the recipe, i followed it and cracked the first one with extreme excitement- it turned out pretty rubbish, still trying to get rid of them! Drinkable yeah but not too good. Was fun making though!

    Rules For Brewing With Lemon?

Hey all. I figure summer is on its way and the home brew crates are running low, wanted to make a brew with lemon as an ingredient. I wasn't sure how adding lemons would affect the sugar content and other important things i wont recognise. I had a search through the forums and couldn't find any...

    South Australian Beer Drinking Trends

Fairly similar to VB, those that disagree with this have drunk too much of one or the other.

    Adding Flavours

I tried a citrus tasing beer using Saaz Hops.. Not outstanding, got a zang to it but not really citrus flavour. With Lemon/Lime i have heard rind is ok and juice is ok. the white fleshy pith is bad citrus flavour. No idea about Chilli.. sounds interesting, you might wanna consider honey/berry...

Thanks mate. I might just find my own brewing feet through obvious stupidity and brewing liquid sour-sobs for a while. But i'll hassle you with stupid questions such as.. 'my local home brew store employee said....' :P

    Need A Straight Answer!

I've been having the same problem.. Adelaide is cold these days, but even with having brew off the carpet in a spare room, windows open and fan on 24/7 i've been averaging a touch over 20.. I figured the towel and bucket of water would encourage infection... Safe???

    Thinking About Losing The Goo..

Hey. Not really sure about the umms and arrs of all this AG business. A bloke at a local brew shop (not a large chain store) said that you just need call him, tell him what to mill and he has it ready for you the next day.. sounded mighty tempting. He explained what i need to do to get what i...

Nuh mate, it was just 4 days til the suggested fortnight, i have since learnt that whatever the can recipe says is a crock. It's been three weeks now and they taste better then last week, still a touch sour but drinkable.
