    Melanoidin In Boh Pils?

Remember that you boil the thick part of the mash, that is, the grains plus any liquid suspending them, rather than just liquid. The liquid contains a lot of the enzymes which will be destroyed if you boil that fraction.

    Faster Bottling

I do the rinse after drinking, followed by a little idophor in each bottle on brew day. My father, who was a kit and kilo of sugar brewer for years and years, used to bottle in glass, but eventually got too lazy and: - only bottled in PET - after use, rinsed, then put upside down through holes...

    Fermentation Concerns

If you're worried about the yeast viability, I'd just pitch another sachet of the SAME yeast as you used originally (saf wheat). Oh, and you could raise it up a degree or two as well; a wheat is normally fermented a few degrees above a normal ale (to bring out the clove and banana flavours from...

    Brett's Brewery In A Box

Careful of the hoses you use to bring the water to the sink... make sure they're food grade to avoid rubbery tastes etc.

Fermentors - How Many Do You Have?

    Beer Line Cleaning

Don't forget to lube them up with a bit of food-grade lubricant before you put them back together, to avoid wearing out your seals prematurely.

    Beer Line Cleaning

Probably worth pulling apart and cleaning periodically. The Craftbrewer instructions for a pluto gun will probably give you a fair idea of how to go about this.

    Sight Gauge For Under $10!

Wouldn't you be better off using silicone tubing, or even glass if you can get it? Those will deal with the heat much better.

    Sunbeam Draft Beer Machine

Nah, they look like over priced pieces of junk to me. I live in an apartment too, so I built a kegging system into a bar fridge, with room for one 12L keg and one 19L. Much much better.

    Cleaning Your Kegs System?

I use the G&G keg cleaner which is Oxyper. It's an oxygen (peroxide) based bleach, which I'm assuming doesn't have the same problems with SS that a chlorine bleach has. Works good too. :D

    Tight Arse Stir Plate

Nah, it's a linear 500 ohm, though adding the resistor in parallel destroys the linearity.

    Tight Arse Stir Plate

Well, it's a matter of opinion, and also the size of your stater. If you have a 3L starter brewed at 25C, is that going to add good flavours or bad flavours to your brew? The choice seems to be pitching the whole thing at high krausen or cold pitch only the slurry after it's flocculated. I...

    Tight Arse Stir Plate

Mine has a 500 ohm potentiometer in it, and it's still touchy as all hell. Actually, I think I put a 100 ohm resistor in parallel with it too, but still touchy. Usable though if you're careful. 500 ohm was the lowest I could find.

A Guide To All-grain Brewing In A Bag

Er, you have postal delivery there, right? Why not get a 25kg sack from Ross at craftbrewer? Postage is like $7.50 or something.

How Long After Kegging Before Drinking?

No, I think they're different products. My Oxyper comes in white granules and is similar to drain cleaner.
