2 Pot Stovetop Ag With Lauter

I have altered this method to go two pot with a bag in an insulated esky. Still 25l mash, 13l sparge, the Swiss voile bag drains quicker, but the twopot stovetop method is the same. Saves me time, beers are the same. Hitting good efficiency. Now my bucket Lauter sits under the stairs. I also...

    Trub from BIAB. Filter?

I don't use an urn but two put stovetop method and have found that scraping hot break off with a spoon, like you would for a clear stock or broth, has reduced my trub dramatically. I scrape the surface scum just before I hit boiling point. I lose a little wort, but my efficiency is better, and...

    Efficiency ain't everything . . .but

I had bad efficiency early on and did a few things ti improve things, now hitting 67.5 - 25 l mash for 90 13l sparge. I remove hot break with my mash soon just before boil breaks. Which has lowered my trub issues. My thermometer was 1 degree out - so I compensate. With those volumes on 5-5.5kg...

Spiced Apple Cider Recipe - Help - Wanting Feedback

Read and heard in the cloves. Yeah the crystal was to try and add some toffee or caramel. Should I mini mash it high and get sweeter unfermentables? Thought just a steep would help with that? Vanilla sounds nice, might have to throw a bean in. Yeast is hard one though. Little temp control...

If you follow the instructions, and obviously you have the basics down, ag is simple. You'll never look back, I didn't, and it was only through reading here, watching YouTube, and getting stuck in. In hindsight, my mini mash and partial days were no less work than ag, and exactly the same...

    Coopers pale ale clone

I started doing mini mashes in a 4l drink bottle, bout kilo of grain to 2l water from memory, which really gave my extract brews something because it opened up all the grains for me to use beyond just stepping spec malts - ie a bit of Munich was my first success. Then I got a 15l drink bottle...
