    Update looking at the pic Cascade(2nd),EKG(2nd),Hersbrucker(2nd),Chinook(1st),Fuggles(1st). Cascade was a strong performer last year however it is unhappy with me for the move from "Big black pot" to the ground(to many tap roots got lost in process.)

    Why is a Beer Engine Sparkler so hard to get!

    So recently I go a mint condition CQ Angram Hand pump from the UK. However it didn't come with a sparkler, and it would seem almost impossible to get one. I have order from place in the UK.... but 20 days later still no sparkler. Has any one here had any luck? If so where?. Thanks

    New hand pump

    Thanks danwood seems logical. How would I connect the pump to the keg, it would appear that I need to step down from barb shown in attached picture to a barb to fit on beer line.

    So lads just picked up angram CQ hand pump ...mint condition from UK $250 delivered 5 days...sick!!!!. So enough crap I'm looking to hook it up to corny keg , kegg will have a little keg crabing just for head pressure. Has any one done this?

    Problems with PET Bottles

    Further to danestead comments FG check is needed, as I have had a RIS in Big W pert bottles with two carb drops since early Jan in a cupboard inside in the heat of Brisbane weather and not a blow at yet.

    Mash tun build.

    I have my thermowell 2/3 the way up a 50L keggly and then a mash master temp dial about 1/3 from the bottom. I find it nice for visual check and the obvious brewery bling. I'm curious though on how you would drain from the bottom given the standard 12ich false bottom comes with a hole already...

    Honey Pilsner

    The batch size was 60L and the started worked out to be 8l. The strange thing is I have none this many times before without this result that's why was wondering if the Honey may have had an effect. Like I said this beer is actually very drinkable...just wondering I guess.

    FB size? 9" or 12"

    I used a 9" FB in a 50L CUB keg...have since changed to a 12" and found the following to be true:- - far less chance of stuck mash in big batches 10kg plus - 8 to 10 points increase in output - clearer wort my five cents worth
