    Secondary regulators

So, anyone found any local suppliers that sell secondary regulators with gauges? I would also prefer to buy locally but can't find anything

Coopers getting in on the game of daft brewing machines?

If you pour a beer out of a bottle is it not pub quality? Or are they saying the quality of the beer they put into bottles is less than the quality of beer they put into the kegs that are sent to pubs??

    Brewing software

i make my recipes with Beersmith on the PC at home, then have it on my work PC also (which is OK according to the licence agreement) so I can make grain orders during the day. Then I have it on my tablet which I use during brew day. Helps me heaps.

    When to add coffee?

did anyone try that Mountain Goat beer where they used the coffee beans for the bittering element instead of hops? It was pretty nice! Would have taken a lot of experimentation to get right!

    First Brew

Be careful with Galaxy - too much and the beer will taste like onions and garlic. My latest beer I used sparingly and got a really nice balance - only used 10 grams at 15 mins and 10 grams dry hopped. If you want to clone a James Squire beer you have to make sure the taste is only there the...

Husky's Full Stainless Automated(partial) BIAB RIMS Brewery

Nice work so far Husky. I work for an automation safety company and have been working on my plans for something like this (a 3V system) using a PLC and HMI from work. We have a PID function block in the software so I don't need to learn how to write that stuff. Will be following your progress.

    Min temp for no chill

I'm no expert but I thought you don't want to chill so it sanitises the cube? That's what I read when I started doing it and it's the way I have been doing it (but I still use Star-San in the cube and hosing). EDIT I just reread the OP - i didn't read it so well the first time, so apologies...

bourbon barrel, RIS stand, a 10 minute build

Awesome! I'd love to do this. I dropped by 3 Ravens on the way home on Friday arvo - they had their barrel aged imperial stout on keg (last one apparently). I bought a 6 pack :beerbang:

    Potato battered chicken

I think I did it like that - I treated it like a schnitzel essentially. It was a while ago can't remember exactly

    Potato battered chicken

Good morning everyone When I was in Prague and madly drinking any Budvar I could find I went to a restaurant with SWMBO and ordered an interesting sounding dish - Potato battered chicken. It was the most amazing beer food ever! It was essentially chicken breast (or thighs maybe) battered with a...

Mr. Malty reckons on 1 litre starter for 11 litre batch. Really?

i always use the starter calculator in Beersmith over Mr. malty as Mr. Malty always says I need 2 packs. Bugger that

    Opinion on burner

That does seem cheap for a 4 ring burner - they do vary though. Maybe it's a ****** regulator. I use a three ring burner and it works well with my 40L pot. I got mine from here: https://www.auscrown.com.au/page/shop/browse/a/category/e/castironringburners Grain and Grape also have them now too...

IPA not as hoppy as it should be

Get yourself one (or many) of the Speigelau IPA glasses. One of my IPAs tastes a bit hopless in a tulip glass (or any other glass), but put it into the IPA glass and :kooi: I gave the same beer to some mates in the IPA glass. While they were still drinking that I got them to try a beer from a...

    Spiegelau IPA Glasses on Sale

normally a hefewezien glass will have a 500mL mark a few inches below the top - this is where the head goes - so I guess it's around 200mL

    Gluten free recipes

I think sorghum syrup is fermentable - doesn't need to be malted. http://www.grainandgrape.com.au/products/category/search/4BRIESS+SORGHUM+CAN

    Gluten free recipes

I made a gluten free beer. I used Briess Sorghum syrup I got from Grain and Grape. I went a bit overboard. I used 2 x sorghum syrup, plus 1kg of honey and some malted buckwheat (I malted myself) - only about 200g - and did a mini-mash in a 2L cooler container. I think the honey was way more...
