    Hey ... I thought I would try to aerate my wort as I was pouring it into the fermenter by splahing and pouring water in from a height.. Wort was still 30 degrees, now I have have just read wort must we chilled before doing this as it can cause oxidation.. omg I have wort in chiller now...

    Just scored a fridge for my fermenters and was wondering if it were necessary to vent it to allow all the gases out . I know what its like then I open the fermenter lid.. just didnt want to open door and drop dead... plus I could imagine some gases seeping into the wort again .. thanks

    Yeah im pretty sure our home-brews don't have any preservatives ... which beers have preservatives anyway? Dont Coopers fill there bottles directly from the tap?

    I was looking at this flier from a micro brew house and they suggested that you refrigerate your finished beer bottles because they contain no preservatives. Could someone please shed some light on this for me please. Cheers and hope were all having a great chrissy..

    Well ok , cheers and thanks for the replies. I have been noticing the same funny tastes in all my beers . I ditched the first few batches, I just put that down to the fermenting temps being all over the shop .. it was a cascade pale ale, the yeast keep on dropping in and out of temp ranges...
