    Phillips Perfect Draft

They bought it O/S. Ive looked at the Heineken ones on the net and I don't think they are the same. I've yet to see them in the stores. It seems to have some sort of rubber grommet that holds the spear in place. May be just a matter of removing it but I don't want to do any damage.

    Phillips Perfect Draft

Anybody know anything about these? I friend of mine has this system but can't find anywhere to buy new kegs. I have the keg and am looking at removing the spear and filling it with some A.G. brew., but that isn't proving too successful. Anybody know to dismantle the keg?

    Harris 601 And Nitrogen

jeddog, Welcome. I have gassed Kilkenny and other such brews with CO2 without any problems. Granted, Nitro mix will give you a more 'authentic' look, however CO2 will still produce that characteristic rising foam that Kilkenny and Guinness are famous for. Nitro will give you a smoother head...

    Keg Head V's Bottle Head

Yeh, considered that but it was a number of different brews bottled over a 6 month period. Bottles were squeaky clean.

    Keg Head V's Bottle Head

Ran out of keg beer last week :( so I've been drinking the bottles that I have been storing the excess brew in. One thing I have noticed is the lack of head retention in the bottled beer. Same glass, same brew, lots of bubble but next to know head retention. The kegged beer holds head all the...

    Boil Pot Heaven

Just thought I'd post some pictures of a shop (one of a number) that I visited in Sri Lanka. It had pots of every shape and size you could imagine in SS and aluminium at a fraction of the cost in Aus. They also had strainers, gas rings, eletric boilers and heaps more stuff you could use for...

Where To Get A Big Ss Pot?

Hi guys, I'm currently in Sri Lanka and have been looking at pots for brewing in the markets around Colombo. They have any size pots you could imagine. I'm looking at buying a 40 or 50 litre aluminium one which is fitted with a brass tap. Its around $40 Aus, which is pretty cheap. I just logged...

    Chill Haze?

Thunderlips, The only time they haven't been clear is when I have given it a shake to carbonate and haven't given it sufficient time to settle. I usually find it can take two or three days to settle properly. Still tastes good but!

    Chill Haze?

Thunderlips, I've been brewing kits for 15 years and kegging for 2. I have never racked any of them and haven't had a bad one yet. As for chill haze in kits, the only time I have had that problem is recently with a Mexican Cerveza that I boiled. I have also cut about 10mm off the dip tubes in...

Creating A Cfc In The Laundry Sink

I used this method on the weekend. I found a layer of warm water in the sink formed very quickly. I just gave the sink water a quick stir and saw the wort temperature drop. Just as a matter of interest, the middle of the wort was cooler that the outside and I could actually see circulation in...

    Burnt Wort

Sloth, I suspect that that may be the problem. It's thin ss 20l pot. I thought I'd be a tight arse until I did some experimenting. I don't think it's heavy enough to stop the wort from catching on the bottom. I heated it on a gas burner. Oppps sorry about the multiple pots, did not think the...
