Planning a lager or two in coming weeks. Previously, I've found wy danish the easiest to deal with - pitch two packs or make a decent starter and she ferments quickly and well, no diacetyl, creamed corn or shitty stuff.

Where I shop now stocks WLP yeasts and I can't find an equivalent online (mr malty comparison chart, etc). I can order stuff in if I know what I'm looking for.

So any regular wlp users care to make a recommendation? Quick finisher, clean, drops bright.

German and/or czech pils styles - helles, pils, munich or vienna lager, etc.
Thanks

838, south Bavarian something or other. No fuss does it's job

Send me a PM mants, im sure I can get a vial to you for a decent postage price

Thanks MB. Do you mean a vial of wlp 838, wy danish or something different?

2042 Danish, it went PC recently I think. I have 838 also, but have not brewed with it yet so can't comment

Cheers for the offer and I may yet take you up on it. Main thing though is just working out the WLP options. I'm more experienced with WY but WLP is what's readily available and I've found some great ones so just trying to familiarise myself with a few.

Another one for 838, quite a good yeast. Finishes quickly, clean and bright.
