I've recently been given a 500g pack of dried white corn. Not exactly sure what I can use it for though....

Anyone with any suggestions?

Whack it into a food processor and turn it into a meal/kibbled/flaked. Then boil it like polenta to gelatinise it for around 1/2 hour. once thats done, add it to your next light SRM lager mash (make sure you lengthen the mash rest time to ensure it fully converts.), ferment out and there you have it. you brewed your first traditional classic american pilsner! :)

I think that's the American term for MaltoDextrin.

If it's the same then it's used for adding body to beer.
I used it early on when I first started brewing but haven't now for years.

Waste of time I reckon.

Nope, its white corn:

Oh maltodextrin can aid in head retention, body and mouthfeel.. much like adjuncts such as wheat or using carapils can.
