As per title, I was thinking of replacing my gas line with coloured line eg air hose, but the usual suspects don't stock it small enough for what we use. Any ideas?

When I was searching for chest freezer ideas I remember I came across a dude in the states who had blue gas lines, it was pimpin'. :D

??? ;)

Im confused at both

Why?

and Why?

will it make the beer taste better?

If you want to carbonate faster you need to use red gas line. Everybody knows that red goes faster.

I use black 3/8" poly pipe used for instrumentation type stuff, abit overkill but thats all I could get my hands on at the time :p

Could always use Stainless Steel Braided Lines like they use in cars...

Use coloured heat shrink tube over normal gas line. Available from Dick Smith, Jaycar etc. Be careful when shrinking it, don't use a direct flame.

Setting aside some of the helpful advice...
If they have it in the US micromatic

Then someone like Andale must have it.

use pnuematic line ... comes in a few colors would be pressure rated , dunno about food rated though

Hi, Brew bud, If you look in the yellow pages or the like, check out any pneumatics supplier. They all sell various colours. You will want 8mm dia. I live in brisbane and use this type of stuff for work all the time. I have no affiliation, my supplier here is Master Mac 2000. If you are after REAL food grade for dispensing. The Andales of this world can help.

John Guest ...your gods answer to brewing.
Craftbrewer stocks it...not certain of colours though but worth a tingle.
I actually do not use gas line, my beers are so rank they create their own serving pressure..

Now that's a point!

Has anyone tried Baked Beans, full cream milk or Onions yet?

As for KGB's coloured gas lines, - ghay! Might be OK for the cafe-late scene!

That type of Blue air line, is for use with air operated solenoid control equipment and even for air lockers on 4WDs.

It's 5mm stuff if that's any help.

You can get it from ARB or "air control" equipment specialists. It even comes in black too.

I have a long length of 5mm in black. PM me if you want a length, but you will have to source the end connectors.

(I'm thinking a spray can would be easier though!)

AdamT: well put...

Tony: does your bulls head logo make your beer taste better? If you'd like some justification it will make it easier to sort out the spagetti jungle inside my chesty :p

Gregor: I like your thinking. ;)

First prize goes to enoch, cheers mate. Thanks to all for the replies.

Yes Andale do have coloured lines, they use it to make up the multi line Pythons that run from the cellar to the ice bank under the bar.

I got some sample pieces of 6mm
Picture says a thousand words, so does Becky, but thats another story.
