UHU Glue stick.

When finished with the amber goodness inside, rinse any sediment from the bottles using hot tap water, then the bottles into the dishwasher. Come out label free!

Cheers,

Bumma.

+1 for UHU glue stick

I rinse my bottles after i pour out the goodness then when i have enough to fill the laundry sink i soak them overnight and the labels fall off in the water

For case swaps I used to appropriate some of the kids clear gum glue from their school bags.

A dab in each corner holds very well without smudging the label.

Peels off (glue and all) when finished. No feckin around with soaking etc..

+1 That's all I do.

Yar just need to be quick and as crafty as a fox because if ya get sprung don't the kids do their chops FFS! You would think you've stolen the family jewels! <_<

Then wife steps in with tha "No wonder the kids can't Blah, blah, blah, blah!" I usually switch off about there ;)

Cheers

I've been using Avery inkjet mailing labels I got in Woolies (was the only ones I could get in a hurry in the desert where I live). I get them off when cleaning them for the next brew - fill up the bottle with hot pink stain solution and if your careful the label peels off (adhesive seems to release well. Although they don't come off as easy if the liquid is not hot enough.

Once I finish the pack I might try using some Clag/ starch or glue stick - at least these options give a bit more freedom in label design.

+1 for the glue stick, the labels come straight off when I give the bottle a wash after drinking

Finners, if you look at the avery web site you will find heaps of different size labels. You might find one that suits your size label. That way you could print and stick them on in 1 easy go.

I use Avery J5624 Labels. You can print or write on them. They are 24mm round labels that fit straight on top of your crown seal. You can download their word template from their web site for FREE.

They come in a pack of 525 labels/15 a sheet. I bought white ones from officeworks for about $8.00 They also have different colours as well.

Add your own logo/picture and info such as brew style, batch code (traceable to your brew log), date bottled and alcohol %. Then print and stick them on. So easy. You can print 1 or all 15 or as many as you need on a sheet.

I only use 4 or 6 labels for my long necks per brew, as the rest of the brew goes into the keg.

They are so easy to use, and the best thing is when you take the crown seal off it goes straight in the bin. No labels to clean off.

Cheers, WoolBrew :chug:

Today I used Napisan Mega-Oxygen Plus or something for the first time to remove labels and if you let them soak for 2 hours they fall off and leave no residue on the bottle whatsoever. A quick rinse in fresh water then sanitiser and you are good to go.

I normally use milk for sticking on labels, but might give some watered down PVA a try for the next batch I am bottling for a party.

They also peel off easily without leaving any residue from bottles with swing top, like Grolsch, as long as they don't get wet. Peel them off before you open the bottle.
I use them all the time.
