I was going to do a pretty basic pilsener tomorrow (weather permitting) and was considering replacing some of the grain bill with cooked jasmine rice along the lines of a CAP. Anyone tinkered with percentages etc.

23 litre batch

4.5 JW Pils malt
0.2kg Med Crystal malt
0.1kg Carapils

mash @ 66 C for 60min

35gm POR 60min
15gm Saaz 15min
15gm Saaz 0min

Ross had one on tap the other day that was pretty good but I've forgotten the details (I blame the RIS :D ).

Hi mate,

I'd be adding 500gms in a standard batch (23L) - The CAP you had here was 850gms.

cheers Ross

Thanks Rook - I searched pils&rice rather than CAP, doh.
500 gm it is Ross, I'll redo it using B-Saaz once I'm out of the saaz pellets (might get rid of some green bullet for bittering :p )

Just gave my first CAP a taste test after 1 day in the keg at 250kpa. Very tasty beer with a classic bitterness up front, I used 25% flaked rice in mine. :D
