hi geez i need some help asap......

was just about to bulk prime into my second fermenter everything is ready to go...
as i was draining the sanitizer from the 2nd fermenter i put a hole in it and brittle plastic fell into the fermenter. Is it ok to add the bulk priming sugar into original primary fermenter and give a little stir before bottling....and how is the best way to go about it.

you could do it that way jut be careful not to disturb the yeast cake too much so you dont make your brew too cloudy. or you could just wait a couple more days till you can get another fermentor to rack in to

Have you still got your beer in the fermenter? I thought the idea of bulk priming was to get it off the yeast cake much like racking. Could oyu not fix the hole in the 2nd fermenter with some arildite or something?

nah the fermenter was fairly old and the plastic broke like glass and is everywhere. Ill just have to cancell tomorrow arvos job. so i can get to the HBS and get another fermenter and some more dextrose..

Do i have to re sanitize the bottles tomorrow or just leave the solution in the bottles till tomorrow arvo then empty?

I'd say if you did this you would get a fairly cloudy beer as any stirring will pick up all the yeast, hop debris etc. off the bottom. Maybe just leave it in primary for another night and pick up a new fermenter tomorrow or over the weekend. It shouldn't hurt it.

Im sure leaving the sanitizer in the bottel will be fine.
Have you allready added the dextrose to the fermenter if so you may have to wait for this to ferment out befor racking to and bulk priming to the 2nd fermenter. You dont want to over carbonate youe bottel bombs. I mean beer. :p

nah it was still in the saucepan (cooling down),i just checked in the saucepan and therez a flake of tobacco in it  so ill have to get a new bag of dextrose, its only $1.80.
(better than losing the whole batch)
geez what an arvo, anyways fridge is stocked and about to have a valium milkshake lol. closed the shed and forget all about till tomorrow......

thx guys kingvb

Mate, I have practically almost given away using a bottling bucket for bulk priming and just add thepriming sugar dissolved in a little water to the primary fermenter and stir gently with a sort of up and down, round and round motion. It might kick up a bit of yeast, but that just means some bottles will have a little more yeast in them. They will not be any more cloudy than any other bottle because the yeast settles out. Honestly, you will never know which bottles were filled from the top and which from the bottom of the fermenter. I say, go ahead and bottle now.

And if you need to make more priming solution, just use normal white sugar. You'll never know the difference. :super:
