Hey Braufrau,

I think they dropped a zero (ie. 390 pounds)....

Cheers,
Michael. :)

I was lucky enough to try the Utopia a few weeks ago!

It was given to us without any description, just part of a tasting session. When I first tasted it I thought it was a liquour, but it still had enough of a beer/barley wine flavour to remind me it wasn't. I thought that it might have been a 15% BW or the like so I was a bit surprised when it was revealed that it was actually 25%.

I was told that it was aged in 3 types of wood (don't know f that means successive or 3 blended batches) and certainly the wood flavour was there but subdued and no hash notes.

Certainly a beer to try if you're ever lucky enough, but I'd find it hard to spend over $100 (US?) on it or any other beer.
