last night I kegged ( into a 40L keg ) my first Threecan

I must have been bored when I put this one together

Not as bad as it sounds.

3 x Farmland Lager
500G LDME
15g SAAZ

2 x fermenters. 1 can of goop in each
1 can & LDME in with 4L of water boiled for 20min
SAAZ in at five to go.
Split boiled goop into fermenters evenly.
Pitched a morgans dry lager yeast in one & used a starter from my last lager in the second. ( Saflager from memory )
Made up to 42L ( 21 in each fermenter ).
Fermented at 16 Deg.

I had a sample out of the fermenter ..... & it's not to bad :super:

Goop $27
LDME $4 ?
SAAZ $3 ?
Total $34 ( 80 cents a litre )

Anybody else tried something similar.

I was about to do a toucan Coopers Lager - I had great results with my last toucan and it actually has a similar background flavour to Skol superlager 9% and I was thinking of upping it to a threecan. I've just heard that Kmart have Coopers for $9 at the moment so threecan it will be! Might whack in a kilo of LDME as well and see what eventuates.

Hi Cracka,
purely coincidental, but about 4-5 years ago(that's not the coincidence,i will get to it),i spoke to my local brew shop about attempting a Chimay Blue imitation.
There were 2 x 1.7 kilo kits,500 grams of liquid wheat malt, another kilo of liquid malt(can't remember which one),two types of extra hops, and a Belgian liquid yeast-all up,around three cans.
Anyway,it was absolutely rabid to drink-filthy.....
Tried one about every six months till it finally became just drinkable at 2 years.
By this stage,i'd waited long enough so poured the rest out.....needed bottles.
Anyway,i was going through my store yesterday of old stock, and by chance, there was one left (i think, going out in a minute to see if there are more),and it was the single best beer i have EVER tried in my life......
Chimay,yeah,not too far off,but better....
You will need patience, more so than usual,to get the best results, but i am dirty i threw the rest out know LOL!!!!
Scott.
