The guy who is putting thebrewingnetwork.com together came by our Diablo Order of Zymiracle Enthusiasts (clubdoze.com) meeting last week at B3 (morebeer.com) to speak to the group about the web site. His name is Justin Crossley, he is a homebrewer and has a background in internet radio. Initially there will be a live, two-hour show on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. Pacific, 8:00 p.m. Eastern featuring Justin, DOZE president Dr. Scott. They will have a variety of guests, some of whom include the four owners of B3, Homebrewer of the Year Jamil Zainasheff and others, Morgan the Brewer from EJ Phair, and much more.

The talk will be about beer and brewing, of course. There will be a call-in line so listeners can ask questions and speak to the guests (and live e-mail response as well), a chat room, a video database of brewing techniques and lots more.

The rest of the programming will be a 24 hour music stream interspersed with brewing tips, trivia, reruns of the live show etc. As the site grows, so will it's programming. It's pretty exciting stuff and this is the first web site of it's kind in the world. So I hope everyone will tune in to www.thebrewingnetwork.com on Sunday, June 5th and check it out. Sounds like fun!

Cheers!

I think that 5pm pacific is 10:00am Monday in brisbane. Might be hard to get to listen to it. Will the shows be available for download after airing?

It would be great if they themselves could record it and make it available via Podcast.

Beers,
Doc

gotta lurv the internet, sounds like a good one. thanks for the heads up plise. cheers.

I just tried listening to their music for a bit & I have 512k braordband & it spent 95% of the time buffering, not too good.

yeah anything like this needs to be downloaded with doppler or something similar

The live show will be re-aired during the week. There has been talk of podcasting, but I have no details on that.

I can't even get to it. The pls file points to 67.128.118.177

65.112.192.254 reports: Destination net unreachable

If you have already downloaded winamp, then copy and paste this into your browser, and this should do the trick:

http://67.128.118.177:8000/listen.pls

If this does not work in the browser, drag this directly into winamp.

Hope this helps. Please let us know. Keep us posted.

Plise - can't even get to the host, seems to be some networking issue, maybe BGP is stuffed up,

I notice that 67.128.118.177 is owned by Qwest, as is the last hop 65.112.192.254, so you might want to contact your provider.

Got to say I clicked on Plise's link above & it worked fine NO buffering at all.

not a very good stream at all, just buffering all the time, even if i try the dial up link.......is it going to get any better

I've had it running for 40 mins & it hasn't missed a beat & not too shabby on the music side either.
