Brought two bottles of Cantillon Gueze back with me from the IBS Perth. Oh My! 12.4 degrees celsius says my thermometer, perfect.

Anyone had any luck finding Gueze in Sydney? Besides that horrible Timmermans ***** which tastes like Lambic mixed with stale draght beer!

I'm sorely going to miss Drie Fontaine Gueuze when I return to Perth later this year. I'm already considering ways of getting a few cases over each year....

At least it sounds like Leif & Rob are importing Cantillon regularly. Should give me my fix. The gueuze is a brilliant beer, but I do prefer the softer Lou Pepe range and Drie Fontaine products.

Gotta give the big yum to Oude Beersel Geuze Vieille.

Now we're talking sour. :beerbang:

My friends inBelgium, coudnt not believe I wasted money buying Gueze, much less that I might insist they drink it with me, They refuse and referred to it as the "Dregs" or "Scum"of the brewery, I must admit i think it taste dreadful too.

Stocks are finally starting to dwindle a little of the original Oude Beersel range though.

On the upside, Oude Beersel has reopened now after it's closure (2001?). They were due to release their first unblended lambic and kriek at the Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation in Buggenhout, Opstal in late May.

It's new young owners who claim to be really interested in the preservation of the traditional techniques, and the original styles. They've been getting assistance from Frank Boon and other lambic brewers and blenders. I spoke with them briefly at Zythos earlier this year.

Time will only tell as to how it all pans out :)
