Stupid Question - Tubing And Taps

Hi,

Being new to the area (read: Country), and not really know about the local hardware shops...can anyone give me any advice about where I can purchase plastic taps/tee pieces/etc for making my own experimental syphon system? I thought my LHBS would have sold them, but i'm out of luck.

Specifically taps/fittings and line and tubing.
