I've got one kicking round I'd be willing to sell. Made of a 90 degree push fit plastic elbow (rated to over 80C and food grade-but not suitable over flame) with a length of 3/8" or 1/2" polycarbonate tube. I also have a stainless eyelet to fit.

I'll have to check that i have the pieces still at hand, and also check whether it is the 1/2" one or the 3/8" one, as I made two a while back. One resides on my HLT the other was destined for the MT but I'm not going to install it now (the dip stick is just working too well now that all my vessels are identical and hence the one stick works in all three vessels ;) ). I think I used the 3/8" one on the HLT so this one is 1/2".

Not sure of the best way to post it though. Anyway, PM me if your interested and if it fits your purpose we can sort something out.

No worries mate. Offer is open to anyone else, otherwise I'll get round to sticking it on ebay.

50L kegs have a nice SS dip tube. They can be filleted to remove a section of the tube. The now open tube can accept and support a soft PVC tube available from Bunnings. The PVC tube can be crimped to an elbow or T piece from the kettle with a hose clamp.

The PVC tube is cheap to replace once or twice a year as it deteriorates.

All the best.

I went for the proverbial "ghetto" solution. I just put a hose barb on the t-fitting that contains the dial thermometer and push a bit of 10mm racking hose over it and secure it with a hose clamp.

Not the prettiest of solutions but it's cheap, easy to build and pretty effective. At roughly $1 a metre for racking hose you're only looking at 30 cents every time you replace the clouded up racking hose which last at least 5 brews.
