Could an infection cause the yeast cake in the fermenter to larger, or higher then normal?
I ask because I have been brewing in 2 fermenters F1 & F2 for some time and recently traced an infection back to F2, so I replaced it with F3.
However, my first brew with F1 & F3 produced a very high yeast cake in F1, which resulted it yet another infected batch, gushing from the bottle by week 3.
So now I have 2 more brews in and again the cake is high in F1 !?!?!?!??
Cheers,
UNT
