I had a batch of Firkin Bolter sitting @ 18 degrees C, it finished so I popped it in the fridge until I cleaned a keg. The thing froze. Not solid but pretty close. I will leave it out overnight & keg it in the morning. I am re-naming it the
Firkin Ice Bolter!
Anyone ever done this? I freeze kegs occasionally with no problems, just never the primary!
I am going to have to go back to brewing in a brewery, because brewing at home is way to difficult!
Cheers

OK this is getting worse. I put a couple of long-necks in the fridge to get cold. Well at least I know the fridge works.Cracked the top and poured it into my favourite glass. It was Ginger Beer. Not quite what I had hoped for.

Don't you traditionally remove the ice frozen at the top and keep the high alcohol beer?

Never tried it, but I'm sure I will one day.

Gerard,
Yep, me too..
I put my lovely primary fermenter in the fridge for a day or two, to drop the last bit of yeastys before i kegged.
Well i forgot about if for a few days and when i went back i had one solid block 25 littres !!!!!!!!!!

A couple of days 'warm conditioning' then kegged !
No worries
