Don't forget The Macquarie is just on the other side of the railway arch ;)

I've heard their beers are a lot better these days. It could make the trip even more worth while B)

Yes, the MacQuarie beers are very good ATM.
Took the team out there for lunch last Friday :p

Doc

Thanks guys.
Every store I've been into and asked for Red Rice, I just get the weirdest looks. You want what ? Then a few conversions in different languages behind the counter, before getting the answer No.
Does anyone know of an Indian supermarket down the Chinatown end of Sydney ?

Beers,
Doc

I'll ask my Mother in Law (shudder) when I see her tomorrow. She was born in Mumbai and should know!

InCider.

Picked up a couple of kg's of Red Rice this morning.

As per Crozdog's information found it at Lucky Thai.

Radical Brewing has a recipe using it for a Red Pilsner. I've finally perfected my Bavarian Weizen, so am going to make a girly version Doc's Red Bav Wheat.
Never used rice before, but will probably just toss it in the mash.

Hey Doc, I'm no expert, having only done 2 AG's and never using rice. But I was reading this site this morning and this bloke says you need to cook the rice first.
Add the rice and just enough water to cook it into the pot. Bring to the boil, and cook just long enough to make a paste. This ensures the starch is freely available.

If I'm telling you how to suck eggs, just be polite and tell me to go away. ;)
