Problem With Ferment - Not Happening?

My first brew I used the lid with the airlock, but ever since it's just been the glad wrap and the rubber seal. No need to do pin pricks or anything like that as the seal is definitely not gas tight. Glad wrap may swell a little, but the gas easily seeps out.
 
steve - bottle at 1018? i would have thought it should go heaps lower than that. see this is the problem with using bloody hydrometers, you're always worrying about SG readings!

manticle: i'd love to but i have no fridge, and no spare fermenter, so that's a bit of a wet blanket on the whole thing. believe me, i'd be fermenting it using temperature control if i could..... but no space here in this damn share house.
