I'm currently using a 25L carboy to ferment my brews, however 20L of beer is a bit on the big side for me, not so much from a consumption point of view but more that I want to branch out and try different techniques and recipes, anyways starting to waffle.

Basically my question is, would a 25L carboy still be suitable to brew say a 10L batch? or would oxidisation etc get the better of me? Would I be better off investing in a 15L carboy?

I only have 30L fermenters and these days I am doing solely 17L batches. Pretty much half full. Never had a problem.

yep would work fine the CO2 produced would push the O2 out in no time better to have a little too much space than no space at all
