Hey all

I recently bottled a Porter Ale in 750ml swing tops & somehow miscalculated.
I have primed to approx 3.1 volumes instead of 2.5. Is this going to lead to mountains of foam when I open them?
They are currently sitting at a steady 22 degrees & have been conditioning for 11 days. Is it worth opening & re-sealing them or is 3.1 volumes still okay (albeit not to style)?

Thanks for your help

I'd crack and re seal. Very easy with swing tops.
3.1 will be too high for a porter IMO, 3.1 be too high for just about everything in all honesty.

Would you do that now or wait another week or so. Also, should I just quickly release & resell or leave them open for a minute?

Thanks for advice.

chill down and crack and release.

Hey, no need to be rude, he was just asking a question.

Oh, you meant _the beer_. Never mind, carry on.

Just released them about 4 times. Most seem to have settled. One or 2 are still acting a bit like they're on their honeymoon....
