Hi All
I’m a first time kegerator owner and I’m having problems with an over gassed keg.
Without experience I set my kegerator up, it has an A type coupler. I stupidly turned the gas on, without realising the gauge was sitting at 40psi. The beer is nothing but foam. Can I fix this?

Pretty easy to fix. You just need to let the excess CO2 out, getting back down to where it should be.

Some way to let the excess out slowly will be best, as you have (apparently) a commercial coupler the best way is probably to loosen the screw on GAS connection to the coupler. Just a bit mind, you want the gas to escape slowly or the beer will foam and make a big mess.

Close the gas bottle
Gently loosen the connection to the coupler until the indicated pressure drops.
Allow to vent over night
Check the pressure
Repeat until desired pressure is reached (be patient)

Good idea to work out what pressure you need to give the desired fizz for the temperature you are at first, so you have a target.
I would much rather work in metric the units being temperature in C, pressure in kPa, resulting dissolved CO2 in g/L (grams / Litre). Consult a decent table like this on at Braukaiser.
