Orange carboy caps

Are they worth seeking out?

Are they available in Australia? Have checked the usual suspects with no luck so far.

Given that the mouth is the dirtiest part of the body, having a beer fermented and ready to transfer to a keg or secondary, it would be a shame to have some spit or something from the mouth fly into the beer and then have everything turn to shit shortly afterwards.

I could be totally wrong but seriously... It's a neat concept but seriously flawed. Unless you want to sterilise the mouth..... I think my pack of starsan says 'Do Not Swallow'.

Might explain why these caps are so hard to come by in Australia?

Yep - agree...and should clarify.

Intend to use these in place of a bung - having all sorts of dramas finding ones that will fit and stay in place in my 23L carboy.

Other avantage for me is it seems an easily sorted blow off tube if need be.

No intention at all of using it as per the instructions.

Bought some of these in the US, buy think I also saw some at ibrew.com.au

Should have looked before I posted. I did come across them while browsing one off the Aussie online retailers, but can't see them on ibrew. FWIW, they fit very nicely onto a standard 2L erlenmeyer flask

IMO, they're way overpriced though.
