I have more than a few old yeast samples in the fridge. I picked a 2 year old whitelabs premium bitter ale yeast sample, and pitched it yesterday. Today there is a nice fluffy ring of goody yeasties ready for work. Hope to pitch them tomorrow into a bitter ( of course ).
How good is that?!!.
I've done this a few times with 2 year old samples, and i've had pretty good results so far. I had one ordinary beer, but it could have been other factors, as it wasn't off or anything.
